Advocacies

The featured causes you see on this page are ones that I have participated in. You can better yourself and others by donating time and/or money no matter how big or small. Every little bit counts. Click on the images to take you to learn more about each cause and how they help others. I love finding new causes to help with so if you find a good one, let me know in the comments below!

American Red Cross
I never knew what my blood type was up until my third year of college. We were having a homecoming blood drive for the American Red Cross. I figured well why not contribute to a great cause, save some lives in the process, and finally figure out what blood type I am? So a few pints later and I am proud to say I am “O positive” which makes me (my blood) so important to those in need.

Pantene Beautiful Lengths
If you are able to cut 8-10 inches of hair off, what would you do with it? I did my research on where to send my hair to and I decided to send my hair to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths program. They do not charge their clients for a wig of their choice unlike some other programs that also take hair donations. Beautiful Lengths is a partnership between Pantene® and the American Cancer Society®, the largest nonprofit health organization committed to saving lives from every cancer and improving the quality of life for people facing the disease. So grow out that beautiful mane of yours and donate today!

Salvation Army Angel Tree
This tree only appears during the holiday season of giving right around late November into December. The basic concept of this tree is that it is decorated with paper angels that have a child’s name, age, and what it is that they want for Christmas. These children may be orphaned, come from a low income family, and etc. I always find great joy in selecting a child in need and being able to help them find joy during the holiday season. There are also “Silver Bells” in addition to the “Angels” where there are elderly men and women who also have things that they want for Christmas. These trees are usually located in a mall near a food court or a big department store such as Macy’s, Belk’s, Dillard’s, and etc.

Toms
One for One. That is the motto for Toms. I heard about this company through friends of mine who owned a pair of these shoes. I loved the concept of buying a pair of TOMS where they will then donate a pair of shoes to a child in need who don’t have access to proper footwear. I now own two pairs of TOMS and hope to own many more pairs with all the variety of colors and styles that are available.
